Introduction
Soluble in water and alcohol, insoluble in ether, benzene, chloroform and carbon disulfide. It can absorb moisture from the air, as well as hydrogen sulfide, hydrogen cyanide and sulfur dioxide. It is flammable and can cause combustion and explosion in case of strong oxidants such as chromium dioxide and potassium chlorate. It is also a good solvent for many inorganic salts and gases. It is non corrosive to metals and can be oxidized to acrolein when used as a solvent.

Storage and Handling Conditions
Store in a cool and ventilated warehouse. Keep away from kindling and heat source. It shall be stored separately from oxidant and acid, and mixed storage is prohibited. Fire fighting equipment of corresponding variety and quantity shall be provided. The storage area shall be equipped with leakage emergency treatment equipment and appropriate storage materials.
Instruction
Used as gas chromatographic fixative and nutrient for antibiotic fermentation. Used for seed preservation.
