GAM (Gifu Anaerobic Medium) Agar Modified [MB-G0825]
A culture medium used for the detection and enumeration of anaerobic bacteria.
* This is a medium for cultivating anaerobic bacteria.
PROCEDURE
Suspend 74.0 G of powder in 1 L of distilled or deionized water. Sterilize by autoclave at 115°C for 15 minutes. Cool to 44-50°C in water bath as deep as the depth of the medium. Mix well. Dispense in petri dish.
STORE
The powder is very hygroscopic. Store the powder in room temperature, in a dry environment, in its original container tightly closed and use it before the expiry date on the label or until signs of deterioration or contamination is evident. Store prepared medium at 2 - 8°C.
