Bile Salt No.3 [MB-B1654]
Purified extract obtained by bovine bile.
INTERPRETATION
Bile Salt No.3 is a modified fraction of biliary salts, with selective activity at least than one-third of the concentration of bile salts. It is utilized for media as MacConkey Agar (MB-M1028), Salmonella Shigella (SS) Agar Modified (MB-S1042) and Violet Red Bile Glucose Agar (MB-V1059) or Violet Red Bile Lactose Agar (MBV1058) at concentration of 0.15% to inhibit the growth of Gram-positive organisms and spore forming bacilli without affecting the development of Gram-negative enteric -bacilli.
STORE
The powder is very hygroscopic. Store the powder at room temperature, in a dry environment, in its original container tightly closed and use it before the expiry date on the label or until signs of deterioration are evident.
