YG Agar [MB-Y0608]
Medium for the isolation and cultivation of yeasts, molds and other microorganisms from soil and water.
PROCEDURE
Suspend 17.7 G in 1 L of distilled water and add 5mL of 0.1% crystal violet solution. Boil to dissolve the medium completely. Sterilize by autoclaving at 121 °C for 15 minutes. Dispense in petri dishes.
STORE
The powder is very hygroscopic. Store the powder at room temperature, in a dry environment, in its original container tightly closed and use it before the expiry date on the label or until signs of deterioration or contamination are evident. Store prepared medium at 2 - 8°C.
