Introduction

Iodixanol is a novel nonionic X-ray contrast agent (osmolality 290mosmol/kg) and is the only contrast agent that is isotonic to plasma when applied intravascular. It is suitable for cone-tube angiography, cardio-cerebrovascular angiography, intravenous urography. It works by combining iodine in blood vessels or tissues to absorb X-rays and create images. Iodixanol has little effect on cardiovascular parameters and femoral blood flow, but it should be paid attention to when used in elderly patients with renal insufficiency undergoing coronary intervention

The usage and dosage of biochemical reagents are mainly determined according to the customer's experimental purpose and the experimental methods in existing literature or books. The following uses are for reference only.

Freely soluble in water, slightly soluble in methanol, practically insoluble in methylene chloride. As a contrast agent, it can be used intra-arterially for arteriography. For example, aortography: concentration of 270/320 mg I/mL, dosage for a single injection of 40-60 mL; for cardiovascular imaging, such as left ventricle and aortic root injection: concentration of 320 mg I/mL, dosage for a single injection of 30-60 mL.

This product can be dissolved in water and prepared into different concentrations of iodixanol solution for use.
