IPTG (Isopropyl β-D- Thiogalactopyranoside) | GC205011-1g | 1 g |
Introduction
Isopropyl- β- D-thiogalactoside, IPTG. As a comforting inducer, X-gal is a chromogenic substrate, and both are used for blue and white spot screening. IPTG can induce the synthesis of lac operon DNA segment of vector β- Galactosidase amino terminal fragment, which can bind to the defective type encoded by the host cell β- Galactosidase achieves intragenic complementation( α Complementary). realization α Complementary bacteria exposed to IPTG and laid on the medium containing X-gal chromogenic substrate can form blue colonies. Exogenous DNA can be destroyed after it is inserted into the polyclonal site of plasmid α Complementation will produce white colonies.

Instruction
The usage and dosage of biochemical reagents are mainly based on the customer's experimental purpose and the experimental methods in the existing literature or books, and the following uses are for reference only.
1. Used in molecular biology, often combined with X-Gal or Bluo-Gal for blue and white spot screening of recombinant bacterial colonies and IPTG-induced protein expression in bacteria. It is recommended to prepare 0.1 M storage solution by dissolving 0.595 g of IPTG (MW = 238.3 g/mol) in water, adjusting the final volume to 25 mL with sterile water, sterilizing by 0.22 µm filtration, and then dispensing into 1 mL~5 mL, and storing at -20°C. The recommended concentration of IPTG for induction is approximately 0.5-1 mM.
2. Commonly used molecular biology reagent, commonly used in blue and white spot screening and IPTG-induced protein expression in bacteria, etc.
Solubility: for IPTG storage solution, dissolve 2 g in 8 ml distilled water, dissolve to 10 ml, filter and sterilize with 0.22 um filter, and store at - 20.
