Biotin is a reagent commonly used in biological experiments. This product can be used for nucleic acid, antibody and other protein labeling, so as to be used for immunoprecipitation, immunoanalysis, protein detection, immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry analysis, Southern, Northern and other experiments. This product can also be used as an additive in some microbial and eukaryotic cell cultures.

Biotin (Vitamin B7), also known as D-Biotin, Vitamin H, Bios II and Coenzyme R, is one of the B vitamins. The CAS number of biotin is 58-85-5, the molecular formula is C10H16N2O3S, and the molecular weight is 244.31. Biotin is a white to off-white powder with purity > 99%.

Biotin is stable at room temperature and in air. It is stable for several months in neutral or moderately acidic solutions, but unstable in strong acids or alkaline solutions with pH values higher than 9. The solubility of biotin is as follows. Water: 25, solubility of 22mg/100ml (solubility increases with the addition of 1N NaOH or hot water); 0.1M NaOH: 25, solubility of 10mg/ml; Alcohol: 25, solubility of 80mg/100ml, insoluble in organic solvents.
