Product Description/Introduction

L-Methionine, also known as L-Methionine, is the left-handed body of methionine, chemical formula C₅H₁₁NO₂S, chemical properties of colorless or white glossy flaky crystals or white crystalline powder, slightly special smell, taste slightly bitter. Melting point 280~281. Unstable to strong acid, can lead to demethylation. Soluble in water (5.6g/100mL, 30), warm dilute ethanol, alkaline solution or dilute inorganic acid. Difficult to dissolve in ethanol, almost insoluble in ether.

Store in sealed cool and dry place, valid for 24 months. Storage and transportation should be airtight, protected from light and moisture. Transportation according to general chemical regulations.

The usage and dosage of biochemical reagents are mainly determined according to the customer's experimental purpose and the experimental methods in the existing literature or books, the following uses are for reference only.

It can be used as an additive ingredient in cell culture medium to help cell growth. For example, when preparing RPMI-1640 medium, the reference concentration of this product is 15mg/L (i.e., take 15mg and dissolve it in 1L cell culture medium); when preparing DMEM/High Glucose medium, the reference concentration of this product is 30mg/L (i.e., take 30mg and dissolve it in 1L cell culture medium).
