Description:
Coliform and E. coli are both bacteria living in the gut and feces of warm-blooded animals. They are conditional pathogens that mainly cause water pollution and food poisoning.

Each FSTest Coliform and E. coli Count Plate is a pre-prepared disposable culture system that contains nutrients, water-soluble gelling agent, galactosidase (GAL) and glucuronidase (GUD) indicator---all the components needed for microbial growth with, so no agar preparation is required.

The FSTest Coliform and E. coli Count Plate makes the total Coliform and E. coli counting finished in as soon as 15hrs. Enhanced visualization simplifies the interpretation as the positive colonies colored in red or blue on the test plate.

The Coliform Count Plate contains selective culture medium, Coliform specific galactosidase as a color indicator, and polymer absorbing gelling agent. It adopts microbial test strip proprietary technology to facilitate a one-step rapid test.

Storage and Stability:

1. Store at a temperature between 4 to 10℃ with intact packages.
   
2. Prior to use, warm up to room temperature before opening.
   
3. Once opened, fold over the pouch and seal it by adhesive tapes to prevent exposure to ambient moisture. The kit can be store in a cool, dry place for no longer than 4 weeks. Or place the pouch in a sealed container and store in a refrigerator.
   
4. Under sealed condition at room temperature, transportation period should be less than 15 days to make sure the product performance remains stable.

Testing steps

1. Inoculate: uncover the top film of the plate, pipette 1ml of sample and drip it onto the center of the plate vertically.
   
2. Incubate: put the plates (film upwards, piled less than 12 pieces) into the incubator (36±1℃) and incubate for 15-24hrs.
   
3. Interpret: count the red and blue colonies with gas bubbles separately, and the fast, precise, and consistent results can be obtained with the help of a built-in grid. (Note: Coliforms are red colonies, while E. coli are blue colonies).
