INTRODUCTION
Cytokeratin 14 is a member of the keratin family, the most diverse group of intermediate filaments. Cytokeratin 14 is a type I keratin, is usually found as a heterotetramer with two keratin 5 molecules, a type II keratin. Together they form the cytoskeleton of epithelial cells. Mutations in the genes for these keratins are associated with epidermolysis bullosa simplex. At least one pseudogene has been identified at 17p12-p11.

IMMUNOGEN
Anti-human KRT14 mAb, clone PAT13F4AT, is derived from hybridization of mouse F0 myeloma cells with spleen cells from BALB/c mice immunized with a recombinant human KRT14 protein 1-472 amino acids purified from E. coli.

PURIFICATION METHOD
KRT14 antibody was purified from mouse ascitic fluids by protein-A affinity chromatography.
FORMULATION
1mg/ml containing PBS, pH-7.4, 10% Glycerol and 0.02% Sodium Azide.
STORAGE PROCEDURES
For periods up to 1 month store at 4°C, for longer periods of time, store at -20°C.
Prevent freeze thaw cycles.
STABILITY / SHELF LIFE
12 months at -20°C. 1 month at 4°C.
APPLICATIONS
The antibody has been tested by ELISA, Western blot analysis to assure specificity and reactivity. Since application varies, however, each investigation should be titrated by the reagent to obtain optimal results. Recommended starting dilution is 1:1000.
