INTRODUCTION
E.Coli Acetate Kinase, also knowns as ACKA, catalyzes the formation of acetyl phosphate from acetate and ATP and also catalyzes the reverse reaction. ACKA takes part in synthesis of various ATP formed catabolically during anaerobic growth of the organism.
DESCRIPTION
Recombinant ACKA produced in E.coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 423 amino acids (1-400) and having a molecular mass of 45.7 kDa.
The ACKA is fused to a 23 amino acid His-Tag at N-terminus and purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
