ATP Swab-QuickTest – Surface Hygiene Monitoring Made Simple
Product Overview
The ATP Swab-QuickTest, used with an ATP Hygiene Monitor, evaluates surface cleanliness by detecting ATP, the universal energy molecule in all living cells. Organic residues and microbial contamination contain ATP. When the swab contacts the luciferase reagent, a chemical reaction emits light proportional to the ATP amount. The monitor measures this light in Relative Light Units (RLUs), providing rapid results—higher RLUs indicate dirtier surfaces.
What is ATP?
ATP (Adenosine Triphosphate) is the universal energy molecule found in all living cells — including bacteria, fungi, plants, and animals. Residual ATP on a surface indicates the presence of biological contamination, either from product residues or microorganisms. The ATP swab reacts with luciferase enzyme, emitting light proportional to the ATP quantity, which is measured in Relative Light Units (RLUs).
Key Features
Immediate Results - Get RLU readings in under 10 seconds
Universal Application - Works on all surfaces (food contact, medical, industrial)
Sensitive Detection - Measures ATP from 1x10-15 mol ATP
Complete 10-Swab Kit - Ready-to-use sterile packs
Ideal for HACCP, GMP, and sanitation compliance
Applications
Food & Beverage Processing
Sanitation Verification
Hospital & Healthcare Hygiene
Pharmaceutical Cleanroom Monitoring
Hotel & Kitchen Cleanliness Audits
How It Works
1. Sample - Swab 10x10cm area using proper technique
2. Activate - Mix with reagent by shaking 10x
3. Measure - Insert into luminometer within 10 seconds
4. Interpret - Higher RLU = greater contamination

Usage Tips
Single-use only: Check the swab for integrity and expiration date before use.
Avoid visibly dirty surfaces: Designed to detect invisible or trace residues; overly dirty surfaces may affect results.
Handle gently: Avoid excessive force or bending when inserting, removing, or mixing the swab.
Avoid sharp surfaces: Do not use on sharp or rough surfaces.
Sampling timing: Ideally, sample after cleaning (detergent) but before disinfection to ensure accurate results. Some disinfectants may interfere with ATP measurement; if sampling after disinfection is necessary, follow proper dwell time or use a neutralizing agent.
Customer Success Story:
"By implementing FSTest ATP swabs, we reduced sanitation-related product rejections by 78% and passed 100% of regulatory audits last year." - QA Director, Global Food Manufacturer
