Description:
Drinking water contaminated by excrement, poor sanitation and hygiene conditions, and water access, is generally believed to be major contributors to diarrheal disease. For this reason, WHO guidelines provide strict limits on the fecal contamination in drinking water supplies. Along with Escherichia coli, thermotolerant coliforms (TTC) are also a WHO-approved indicator of fecal contamination. Besides the E. coli, TTC also includes Klebisella, Enterobacter, and Citrobacter species. A limit of < 1 TTC/100 mL in public water supplies (WHO 2011) was specified in WHO guidelines, which number is also applied to the indicator of E. coli.
Each FSTest E. coli & Thermostable Coliform Count Plate is a pre-prepared disposable culture system that contains nutrients, water-soluble gelling agent, and g indicator---all the components needed for microbial growth with, so no agar preparation is required.
The FSTest E. coli & Thermostable Coliform Count Plate makes the total E. coli & Thermostable Coliform counting finished in as soon as 15hrs. Enhanced visualization simplifies the interpretation as the positive colonies colored in blue or violet red on the test plate.
