McCoy's 5A modified medium is a general-purpose medium originally designed specifically for Novikoff Hepatoma cells by Thomas McCoy et al. McCoy's 5A contains a high concentration of glucose, bacterial peptone and reduced glutathione compared to other media. McCoys 5A medium modified generally supports the propagation of many types of primary mammalian cells derived from normal bone marrow, skin, spleen, kidney, lung, rat embryo and omentum, and other tissues. In addition, McCoy's 5A modified medium is used for tissue biopsy cultures, cell line building, and the culture of some lymphocytes and more difficult cells.

This product contains amino acids, vitamins, inorganic salts and other ingredients required for cell culture, does not contain protein or growth factors, need to add 5-10% serum or serum-free additives according to the type of cell use.

This product is filtered and sterilized by 0.1 μm membrane, pH 7.0-7.4, containing 16.67 mM D-glucose, 1.5 mM L-alanyl-L-glutamine, with phenol red indicator, without sodium pyruvate, without HEPES buffer system.

Storage and Shipping Conditions

Ship at room temperature; Store away from light at 2-8, valid for 12 months.

1. This product has been filtered to remove bacteria, use should pay attention to the aseptic operation, avoid contamination.

2. Avoid freezing the culture medium. Freezing may cause precipitation and precipitation of nutrients, which may not be completely dissolved after rewarming, affecting the cell culture effect. In addition, when the medium is stored at 2-8, do not store it completely close to the inner wall of the refrigerator to prevent the medium from freezing due to localized low temperature.
