BACKGROUND  | ||
Interleukin-10 (IL-10) is an anti-inflammatory cytokine that belongs to the IL-10 family.The Interleukin (IL)-10 cytokine family includes IL-10, IL-19, IL-20, IL-22, IL-24, and IL-26, which are considered as Class 2α-helical cytokines. IL-10, a cytokine with anti-inflammatory properties, has a central role in infection by limiting the immune response to pathogens and thereby preventing damage to the host. IL10 is produced by a variety of cell lines, including T-cells, macrophages, mast cells, and other cell types, while it is produced primarily by monocytes and to a lesser extent by lymphocytes. | ||
