Introduction
Basic Fuchsin is a basic dye with the chemical formula C20H20ClN3. It is yellow-green flashing crystalline block or sand, slightly soluble in water, red-purple, easily soluble in alcohol, and red; in case of concentrated sulfuric acid, it is yellow-brown, almost colorless after dilution, and the aqueous solution plus sodium hydroxide solution has a red precipitate almost colorless liquid. Maximum UV absorption wavelength (distilled water) 480~500 nm.
Basic Fuchsin is used for the preparation of Schiff's reagent for the detection of aldehydes and for the determination of certain acid ions and metal ions by extraction photometry. It is also used for photometric detection of bromine, nitrite and sulfur dioxide. It is also used as a great inhibitor in polarographic analysis and a nuclear dye for biochemical analysis. It is the strongest nuclear dye and can stain mucin, elastic tissue and fuchsinophilic granules, nuclear staining of central nervous system, bacteria. It is a redox indicator used in science to identify Mycobacterium tuberculosis and bromate titration.

Instructions
The usage and dosage of biochemical reagents are mainly determined according to the customer's experimental purpose and the experimental methods in existing literature or books. The following uses are for reference only.
1. Basic Fuchsin can be used to prepare Schiff's reagent for PAS staining, Schiff's reagent (Schiff) preparation: 100mL of distilled water boiled, wait a few moments, add Basic Fuchsin 0.5g, oscillation for several minutes to make the fuchsin dissolved, cooled to 50°C to add 1M of hydrochloric acid 20mL, mix well. To be cooled to 25 add sodium metabisulfite 0.5g, mixed, placed in a brown bottle with a stopper, put in the dark for 24 hours, the dye solution is colorless, such as reddish add activated charcoal 1-2g, mixing and filtration, such as filtrate is still red, should be added a little activated charcoal until the red is completely absorbed. After making it, put it in a brown bottle and keep it in the refrigerator for spare time, if it becomes red, it can not be used.
2. Basic Fuchsin can be used to prepare Phenol Basic Fuchsin Solution, which can show Mycobacterium leprae and Mycobacterium tuberculosis after staining. Preparation method: 5g Basic Fuchsin is dissolved into 100mL of anhydrous ethanol to get basic fuchsin liquor solution, take 1mL basic fuchsin liquor solution and 9mL 5% phenol aqueous solution to get phenol-basic fuchsin solution.
